I first heard of the Azle Memorial Library in 2011 when I was working at the public library in Southlake. I had a part-time job there as I was finishing up graduate school at UNT. A friend told me about an opening for a full-time adult services librarian position at Azle. I quickly applied, and was asked to interview. I can still remember the drive from Denton to Azle and what I thought when I first saw our beautiful library. I remember it was love at first sight. I’d seen a few libraries at that point in my life, but I’d never seen one so well-appointed, so filled with light, and so nicely situated. I know the people involved in the building of the library did years of research, and their care and attention to detail is obvious as you look throughout the library. Working in a place that is so lovely and that was built with so much love makes me want to serve the Azle community to the best of my ability. It is truly an honor to work at the Azle Memorial Library.
