If there’s a better smell than bread baking in the oven, I don’t know what it is! And that’s just what we plan to do this Monday, Oct. 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the library’s community room. Curren McLane, our library director, and I will be team teaching a class on bread making. We’ll be demonstrating how to proof yeast, knead, and bake! You’ll be able to taste our delicious challah bread, pretzels, and the now famous no-knead bread. We’ll discuss different kinds of flours, glazes, and washes. We’re even going to channel our inner Alton Brown and talk a bit about the science behind how yeast, water, salt, and flour come together to make something so remarkable. Recipes will be distributed at the end, and we’ll all get our fill of carbs as we sample the various breads. The class is free, but we ask that you register beforehand. Please call the library at 817-444-7216 and ask for the Adult Services Coordinator or visit our Information Desk to put your name on the list. We look forward to seeing you there!
